SILENT CRACK is a high-end coffee roastery located in Saudi Arabia. It provides different types of coffee beans to all coffee shops in the Gulf. The brand name was inspired by a very specific and special part of the coffee bean journey in the rostering process.
To understand where the name comes from, we need to understand the coffee bean roasting process., It and that starts when they put the beans in the roaster. Soon after, for a quiet time, the beans inside the roaster reach an even brown color, and oil starts to appear on the surface of the bean. And at that moment the smell of freshly roasted coffee fills the air, along with the sound of applause created by the clapping of the “first crack”. The full flavour potential begins to develop in the beans, bringing all of their attributes into balance and you can hear the first crack very clearly.
However to get a perfectly roasted bean you need to wait until you get the second crack but this one is a silent one, which gives the beans the special taste. And this is where the team decided on the name, they were inspired to call this brand “SILENT CRACK”
The was designed to be simple and straightforward: with a sharp slit in the word to resemble the crack in the beans. And the slit in the word gives us a way to create a guideline for the printed stickers.
When it comes to packaging, we wanted to create a solution for an unlimited number of flavors. However, the budget didn’t allow for an extravagant design for each bag. The solution was to have two colors for the bags: black for the blend type(for the second phase of the project), and white for the single-origin.
On top of that, they’d have a stickers printer in the house which would allow them to print an unlimited number of colorful stickers to reflect the flavors that they offer.
